There is still no known explanation as to how the Incas could move 20-ton stones to the top of Machu Picchu, a mystery that makes this a uniquely spiritual and beautiful site. Upon arrival, you will participate in a guided tour of the Citadel, visiting the Main Plaza, the Circular Tower, the sacred sun dial (the most important preserved Intihuatana), the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows and various burial grounds. Day 5

Cusco

After a delicious breakfast, we visit some of the fascinating attractions that the city of Cusco has to offer. Visit Cusco's Spanish colonial monuments (including the Main Square) and cathedral, both rich in historical importance and visually striking. Our tour then takes us to the Convent and Church of Santo Domingo, which the Spanish constructed on top of the ancient Incan temple of Koricancha—fabled to have golden walls. After this "golden" visit we explore the surrounding ruins of Cusco, including Sacsayhuamán. Sacsayhuamán puts Stonehenge to shame with its three overlapping platforms of boulders, each over 360m long. It is thought to be designed as a fortress of sorts. Even if that wasn't its original purpose, there's no denying that Sacsayhuamán was yet another great accomplishment among a long list of others for the Incans. In the afternoon, tempt your taste buds with a tour to a chocolate museum, where you can appreciate the different varieties of cacao and their transformation to delicious products. Learn how to prepare chocolate truffles or chocolate candies filled with flavored chocolate ganache. After visiting this delicious museum, return to hotel. At proper time transfer to local restaurant to enjoy a Dinner Show.

At proper time, our guide will pick you up from your hotel to visit Huacachina Laggon, an oasis in the middle of the desert, holding a splendid landscape of palm trees, "huarangos" (acacias) and dunes, where sandboarding is practiced. In this place, you will take tour to Dune buggy and Sandboarding. Half the tour is riding in the dune buggy, up and down the dunes at fast speeds. And the other half of the tour is a chance to try the adventure sport of “sandboarding”. This is just like snowboarding, but instead of snow, you will be boarding on the fine-grained sand of the desert. If you are not athletically talented, no problem! Just lay on your stomach on the board, and go “sand sledding”. This is faster, lots of fun, and does not require any patience or ability.
Overnight: Ica

Day 8

Ica / Paracas / Lima

Early In the morning, we will transfer to Paracas in order to visit the Ballestas Islands. It is a vibrant and colorful wildlife sanctuary that is filled with wild birds and mammals, including sea lions, fur seals, and endangered Humboldt penguins. During this two hour boat tour you will come face-to-face with these animals in their natural habitation while you are onboard a speedboat. On rare occasions, it is even possible to see dolphins and whales. Obviously, this tour is a spectacular choice for animal lovers and birdwatchers. In addition to the animals named above, a wide range of seabirds also calls these rocky islands their home. You may see and hear pelicans, boobies, red-footed Guanay cormorants, and many other types of birds. During this tour, you can observe a mysterious geoglyph, similar to the Nazca Lines that was carved into the face of a cliff over 1,000 years ago. This symbol is called The Candelabra, and it remains the source of much speculation and debate. It likely was created by the Paracas tribe living in the coast at that time, for reasons unknown.
