Day 1

Welcome to Peru! Arrival to the Jorge Chavez International Airport where you will be picked up by a representative of Golden Peruvian Tours and will be transferred to the selected hotel in the tourist district of Miraflores. Assistance with check in. Overnight. (Check in 15:00)

Day 2

Lima / Cusco

At proper time, the airport for your domestic flight to Cusco. Arrival to Cusco, transfer to the select hotel in Cusco. Free time to acclimatization. Today we will have an exclusive tour of the city that begins with a visit to the San Pedro Market, where we will know more closely the local products. Then continue to the Koricancha Convent, welcomes us with all its magnificence, where it is still possible to feel the magic of walls that were once entirely covered with gold. We will also visit Santo Domingo Church. After that, we will continue to San Blas, the neighborhood of artisans, to visit its peculiar church and then descend walking down Hatun Rumiyoc Street, finding in our way the Inca Roca Palace, the Archbishop's Palace today. We will have time to admire the world famous Stone of Twelve Angles. We will continue to the Main Square to visit the Cathedral with a great historic value.

Day 3

Cusco / Soraypampa / Humantay Lake / Cusco

After we pick you up at your hotel, we will start our adventure to the Humantay Lake with a 4-hour-drive in private transport to Soraypampa (3850 m.a.s.l.). Soraypampa is the campsite for the first day of the Salkantay trek. In Soraypampa we will have a delicious breakfast to start our day well before beginning our trek. In Soraypampa we will start our trek up to the Humantay Lake (4200 m.a.s.l.) with beautiful views and if the sky is clear enough, we can even see the impressive Apus Salkantay and Humantay (the Apus are the spirits of the mountains). It is a 1.5-hour-walk to the lake with a low to moderate difficulty, but it will be more than worth it when you see the magical view. It is also possible to rent a horse instead. We will have enough time to take pictures. After some free time, we will start our descent to Soraypampa of about 1.5 hours, which is a lot easier than the way up. In Soraypampa lunch will await us and after some rest we return to Cusco where we will arrive at 6 p.m. approximately. Walking time: Approx. 5 hours (including picnic en route). Level of trek: Difficulty moderate.

Day 4

Cusco

We will visit the Four nearby Ruins of Cusco: Sacsayhuaman.- Located 3 Km. From Cusco, Inca fortress with an excellent and great architecture. Qenqo.- Ceremonial and Ritual Centre, Also place where sacrifices were made. PucaPucara.- Was more likely a Tambo, or kind of post house than an actual fortress Tambomachay.- 7 Km. From Cusco, site for ritual bathing its use was restricted to the higher nobility, who maybe only used the baths on ceremonial occasions. Return to the hotel. Rest of the afternoon at your leisure.

Day 5

Cusco / Pitumarca / Rainbow Mountain Vinicunca / Pitumarca / Cusco

We will pick you up from your hotel around 4:30am - 5:30am and head south through the town of Urco to the Checacupe District (2 hours by bus) and then follow the path to Pitumarca where we’ll have breakfast. Then we continue along the road through small villages until we arrive to the community of Hanchipata - Quesiuno (1 hour and 20 minutes by bus), the ideal starting point to walk the route. We will see incredible mountains such as Ausangate, beautiful blue lagoons, and many other natural sites. The walk to Vinicunca (Rainbow Mountain) will last approximately 3 hours. At this peak, we will savor the view for about an hour taking photos of the beautiful scenery before descending the path and returning to our bus. We will go back to Pitumarca to have lunch and then we will be on our way to Cusco.

Day 7

Cusco / Ollantaytambo . Km 104 Chachabamba / Wiñaywayna / Machu Picchu / Aguas Calientes.

Ours passengers will be picked up from their Hotels at the agreed time, transferred to the station in order to aboard the train that will lead them to the KM104, located in the railroad Cusco-Macchu Picchu. KM104 will be our departure point for the adventure and we will be arriving there at 10:00. At this point, we will leave the train and start walking to the city of Macchu Picchu, across the Urubamba River through a bridge that offers a spectacular view of the mountains. During the trip we will make our first visit to one of the Inca sites known as Cachabamba, a beautiful palace with nice walls carved in stone. Then our guide will explain part of the story of the Incas. We will start walking again and start climbing through a mountain totally covered by vegetation, for about 8 Km (4 hours), until we arrive to Wiñaywayna, located at a height of 2700 meters above sea level. After Macchu Picchu, Wiñaywayna is one of the most beautiful buildings made by the Incas, is a cloudy forest. Wiñaywana shows a perfect example of the agriculture during Incas time, showing a great number of terraces, where the Incas used to grow different plants and vegetables, including coca leaves. The name of Wiñaywayna comes from a beautiful orchid, which grows in that region and means “forever young”. After exploring this marvellous site, we will have lunch near to this zone. Later the same day we will continue our walk towards a cloudy forest until the Inti Punko or “Door of the Sun”. At this point, the adventurers shall have access to the most amazing view of the city of Macchu Picchu. This is a very special site, where we will rest for some minutes and take many pictures of Macchu Picchu. After we will descend towards Macchu Picchu (the guided visit will be next day) and we will arrive to the town of Aguas Calientes where we will spend the night in a hotel or a hostel, depending on the preferences of the passenger. At night, the passengers will explore and get to know the little town and will be able to try the thermal baths located in the superior part of the city near the Main Square. Aguas Calientes has a great variety of restaurants and counts with an ATM. We will stay for the night in the chosen hotel.

Day 8

Aguas Calientes / Machu Picchu / Ollantaytambo / Cusco

After breakfast, we will go to the bus station of Aguas Calientes in order to take the tourist bus that will take us to the Sacred City of Macchu Picchu. This short trip takes only 20 minutes and goes through a rural road, very difficult and with a big number of curves through a mountain with jungle characteristics and amazing views. Finally, we will arrive to the Sanctuary of Macchu Picchu where our guide will offer us a walk through the most important points of this beautiful Inca city, visiting the most important parts. Later the same day each passenger will be able to explore the city on his own. Around 13:00, we will take the returning bus to Aguas Calientes. Once the train has arrived to the train station, the passengers will be transferred to their respective hotels.
